Belfast Man Joins Allen and Greene in Last 64 Draw!!!

With Gerard Greene and Mark Allen cementing their places earlier today, Joe Swail ensured his passage this evening with a gutsy comeback victory over Andrew Higginson.
The former World Number 10 dropped the opening two frames to his English opponent, before taking four on the spin to clinch the match 4-2, managing a century break in the fifth frame, en route to victory.
Earlier, Allen put his weekend defeat in the UK Championship final behind him to beat Liang Wenbo by the same scoreline.
Both men will be joined in the Second Round by Gerard Greene. The Kent based potter, made light work of Scottish starlet, Chris Totten , coming through his morning encounter 4-1, firing an impressive break of 134 along the way.
Antrim man Jordan Brown will be the only one of the Ulster quartet to be catching the short flight home this evening, after falling to Wales’ Lee Walker, 4-2.
Green and Swail are both in action again early doors tomorrow, and will face local hero and World Number four, John Higgins, and Walsall’s Mark Joyce, respectively.
It’ll be Chinese opposition again for Allen tomorrow night, when he takes on relative unknown Chen Feilong.
